Jennings, Hargrave ハーグレイヴ・ジェニングス (1817-90) ☆　英国ヴィクトリア朝の奇矯な薔薇十字研究家。薔薇十字研究に名を借りて男根崇拝の研究を進めたことで有名。 　詳細な経歴は不明。ロンドンのイタリア歌劇場支配人の秘書を長年つとめたが、赤貧を洗い続けた模様。30代から各地に残る陰陽石を研究、またあらゆる事物に性的象徴を発見するフロイト的鑑識眼を養う。1870年にそれまでの研究をまとめた『薔薇十字、その儀式と密儀』を発表して、後世まで笑われることとなった。 　ジェニングスの著書は薔薇十字文献としては何の価値も有さないが、性魔術関係者が薔薇十字的衣装をまとおうと試みる際によく引き合いに出されることがある。
